CREW WAGES
Crew wages: from agreement to payslip, from payslip to bank matching.
Wage agreements, on-board expense entries and overtime come together in one account; wages are calculated per vessel and month, approved and locked. Seafarers see their payslips and account in their own login.
THE PROBLEM
Sound familiar?
- Wage tables and vessel cash live in separate spreadsheets
- Exchange differences and corrections are calculated by hand
- Seafarers only see their payslip by email
- Payments returned from the bank are checked one by one
CAPABILITIES
From agreement to payment
Wage agreements and scales
Per-person wage agreements starting from rank scales; line items, currency and overtime from recorded work hours.
Monthly wage run
Vessel × month: draft, calculate, approve, paid. Approved runs are locked; corrections go into the next month as line items.
Payslips and PDF
Payslips with earnings, deductions and exchange details; a negative net carries forward to the next period.
Vessel cash
Expense entries are made on board, approved ashore and acknowledged by the seafarer. Works offline.
Employment agreement (SEA)
An agreement draft and PDF from the wage agreement; the signed copy is added to personnel records.
Bank file and statement matching
A payment file is generated; uploading an MT940 or camt.053 statement matches payments to payslips.
PROCESS

- 02
Calculate at month end
The run collects agreements, vessel cash and manual items; exchange rates are entered on the run.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is this a payroll system?
No. Pelastra does not run statutory payroll, social security or tax calculations; it keeps the seafarer’s wage account (portage bill). Statutory filings stay with your existing system.
How are exchange differences handled?
Rates for items outside the run currency are entered by hand on the run; each item shows the original amount and the rate used.
What if we find an error after approval?
An approved run never changes. The correction goes into next month’s run as a flagged prior-period line item.
Who can approve?
Run approval, marking as paid and the bank file are limited to the administrator and accounting roles; the crew manager prepares the run.
