MLC HOURS OF WORK AND REST

Hours of work and rest, with violations calculated automatically.

Every seafarer records their day in 30-minute slots; MLC 2006 and STCW rest rules are calculated on the server. Officers approve, the office follows violations fleet-wide and exports the IMO/ILO table.

THE PROBLEM

Sound familiar?

  • Hour sheets are filled in all at once at the end of the month
  • Violations are only noticed during port state control
  • The watch schedule can’t be compared with actual hours
  • Fleet-wide compliance isn’t visible

CAPABILITIES

From recording to inspection

1

Half-hour recording

A day is 48 slots marked by dragging; the vessel’s local day is used.

2

Automatic violation checks

Rest duration and split rules are calculated on the server; emergencies and drills are marked as exceptions with a reason.

3

Regime per vessel

Hours of rest (STCW, default) or hours of work (MLC) regime selected per vessel.

4

Approval flow

Officers approve days, each person acknowledges their month; a record changed after approval needs approval again.

5

Watch schedule

At-sea and in-port watch plans; suggested entries from the plan and a deviation report.

6

IMO/ILO export

The monthly table exports to Excel in the IMO/ILO format.

PROCESS

How it works

  1. 01

    Publish the watch schedule

The master, chief officer or chief engineer publishes the at-sea and in-port plan.

  2. 02

    Everyone records their hours

Ratings and officers record their own day; suggestions come from the plan, no internet needed.

  3. 03

    Approve and follow

Officers approve, each person acknowledges their month; the office sees violations on the fleet board.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which rules are applied?

The default regime is STCW hours of rest: at least 10 hours in any 24 and 77 hours in any 7 days, plus split rules. Per vessel you can switch to the MLC hours of work regime (at most 14 hours in any 24 and 72 hours in any 7 days).

Can hours be recorded without internet?

Yes. Records wait encrypted on the device and are sent once connected. In the installed app, the last 100 days are also viewable offline.

Can the office edit hours?

No. Each person records their hours, officers approve; the office follows and exports. This separation keeps records trustworthy in an inspection.

Does the watch plan create records automatically?

No. The plan only pre-fills a suggestion; the person checks it and saves it themselves.
