Effective date: 6 October 2026 Version: 2.0 (previous version: 1.0 — 1 September 2026)
Language notice: This is an English translation provided for your convenience. The Turkish version is the binding text; in the event of any discrepancy, the Turkish version prevails. See Açık Rıza Metni.
Under KVKK Art. 3(1)(a), explicit consent means consent relating to a specific subject, based on information, and declared with free will. Each of the consents in this text is independent of the others and is asked at the moment you want to use the related feature. You are not obliged to give any of them; if you do not, only the related feature will not work — your membership and the rest of the platform are unaffected. This text is submitted for your approval after you have read the Data Processing Notice.
Changed in version 2.0: The former "CONSENT 3 — transfer abroad" has been removed. Transfers that are mandatory for the platform to operate (file storage, e-mail) are now based not on consent but on the standard contracts of the Personal Data Protection Board (Privacy Policy §5.4). Making a mandatory operation conditional on consent was incompatible with the "free will" requirement of consent. The numbering has been retained so that it is not confused with earlier approvals.
CONSENT 1 — Processing of my health certificate records
What is asked: That I be able to enter my health certificate records into my profile, and that these be stored: document type (e.g. seafarer medical certificate, ENG1, pre-employment medical examination, drug and alcohol test, vaccination card), document name, number, issuing institution, date of issue and date of validity.
Only information about the document itself is kept — no medical content is processed, such as a "fit / unfit" result, restrictions, illness, diagnosis or test results.
Why: These documents are a precondition for joining a vessel in the maritime industry; they must be held in the system so that I can be reminded before their validity period expires.
Who sees it:
- Me.
- The users of the company whose personnel invitation I have accepted who are authorised to view health data — so that the company can track my fitness to join a vessel. These views are recorded.
- If I separately select the health section in a share link (CONSENT 2), the person I give the link to.
What happens if I do not give it: The health certificate fields remain empty, and I do not receive health certificate expiry reminders. All other features of the platform work normally.
Retention: For as long as my consent continues. When I withdraw my consent, my health certificate records are deleted.
☐ I give my explicit consent to the processing, for the purposes explained above, of my health certificate records, which are special category personal data within the scope of Article 6 of Law No. 6698, and to their being shown to the company whose personnel I am.
CONSENT 2 — Inclusion of my health certificate records in a share link
What is asked: That the health section also be included in a profile share link I create.
Why: So that the employer I give the link to can see that my health certificate is valid before I join a vessel.
How it works: This consent is obtained separately for each share link — it is not a general approval given once. In a link for which consent has not been given, health fields are not generated at all in the response. The moment consent is given is recorded.
What happens if I do not give it: The link is created; it simply does not contain the health section.
⚠️ I can revoke a link after sharing it; however, information the other party has viewed or downloaded up to that moment cannot be recalled.
☐ I give my explicit consent to the inclusion of my health certificate records in this share link. (Asked separately on every link creation screen.)
CONSENT 3 — (removed)
The consent to transfer abroad in version 1.0 has been removed; see the note above. Having given this consent previously does not initiate any processing, and you do not need to withdraw it separately.
CONSENT 4 — AI-generated professional summary and transfer abroad for this purpose
What is asked: That when I use the "generate professional summary" feature, the professional information in my profile be sent to Anthropic PBC's artificial intelligence service in the United States of America for the purpose of text generation, and be processed there.
What is sent: my rank, my qualification, my total sea service time, the number of vessels I have served on and their types, the position and vessel name in my last ten assignments, certificate names, my skills, my languages and their levels, school names.
What is not sent: my name, my contact details, my identity and document numbers, my health data, my document files and my messages.
How it works:
- The feature runs only when I request it; it does not run by itself in the background.
- The generated text is shown to me first; text I do not approve is not written to my profile.
- AI can make mistakes; verifying the accuracy of the generated text is my responsibility.
- This operation does not produce an automated decision about me.
- Anthropic undertakes not to use data sent via the API for model training.
Risks of the transfer abroad: There is no adequacy decision issued by Türkiye in respect of the USA. Protection at the same level as under the KVKK may not exist in that country, and my data may be accessed by that country's public authorities. This transfer relies solely on this consent, not on a safeguard such as a standard contract (KVKK Art. 9(6)(a)).
What happens if I do not give it: I write the "About me" text myself. No other feature is affected.
☐ I give my explicit consent, being aware of the risks explained above, to the transfer of my professional profile data to Anthropic PBC (USA) for the purpose of generating a professional summary, and to its processing for that purpose.
Withdrawal of consent
I may withdraw each consent I have given at any time and without giving a reason:
- On the platform: from the Settings → Privacy and Consents screen, as easily as I gave it
- By e-mail: [email protected]
Withdrawal takes effect prospectively: the related processing stops from the moment I withdraw, while processing lawfully carried out until then remains valid. For health certificate records, when consent is withdrawn the records are deleted.
